One Response to “ISA 2012 Panel Organization”

    Dear all,

I am seeking to submit a panel to the ISA Annual Convention in San Diego (http://www.isanet.org/annual_convention/) to be held 1-4 April 2012.

Panel title: ‘Spiralling towards conflict: Bilateral Intervention in Comparative Perspective’

Panel Abstract: Intervention has increasingly become oriented around the action of great powers and multilateral organizations or alliances. This panel focuses on the occurrence of intervention in regional disputes over land, co-nationals, resources and civil war. We encourage inter-regional comparative examinations of bilateral intervention along these lines from the perspectives of foreign policy analysis and regional security complex theory. The purpose of the panel is to look at the precedents to intervention in a bilateral setting along the lines of issue-linkage, special interests, and policy framing at home and abroad. We encourage mixed method approaches.
